Watch Winona Ryder, Chevy Chase and the Most Random Cast of 2011 in This Stay Cool Trailer
Here at Movieline, we’ve seen some pretty random casts take the screen. Take for instance, the WTF-ery of The Big Bang (James Van Der Beek, Antonio Banderas and Snoop Dogg) or the brain teaser talent pool on Dorothy of Oz (Lea Michele, Kelsey Grammer and Patrick Stewart). But what can possibly be said about a trailer featuring Winona Ryder, Hilary Duff, Chevy Chase, Jon Cryer, Josh Holloway and Sean Astin acting out a second-rate Grosse Point Blank plot? Take a look at the trailer for Stay Cool and then we’ll try to articulate our thoughts. First, I bet you didn’t see Sean Astin’s over-the-top portrayal of a wrist-wagging, pink helmet-wearing best friend coming. Second, this movie! Written by Mark and Michael Polish, Stay Cool centers on a 30-something author who returns to his home town to deliver the commencement speech at his former high school. There, Henry (Mark Polish) finds himself tangled in a mess of nostalgia, potential flames (Winona Ryder as his high school crush-turned-local pharmacist and Hilary Duff as a “sexy” high school senior) and coming-of-age confusion, none of which are helped by his friends Big Girl (that is seriously the character name given to Sean Astin) and Wino (Josh Holloway). Two years after Stay Cool’s 2009 Tribeca Film Festival premiere, the Ted Smith-directed comedy finally graduates to theaters September 16. VERDICT: Another high school reunion for which I will RSVP “No thanks.” [via MovieWeb]

Anybody that has been maintaining using their television and film news must have observed that there are been an absolute change in interest towards the small screen. Lots of major celebrities from Maria Bello and Jim Caviezel to Kat Dennings and Zooey Deschanel have starring roles in new TV series this fall, and when individuals shows are effective there likely is going to be much more bulletins come next spring and summer time. Even when they are not starring within the series, Hollywood's best and cleverest continue to be dabbling inside them. Take Dwayne Manley, for example. The wrestler-switched-actor is creating a TV pilot with producer Jerry Bruckheimer that's occur the field of wrestling within the eighties, also called the "golden chronilogical age of wrestling." Deadline broke this news, and it is unclear whether Manley will remain in a creating role or also act within the show. Regardless, will still be a brand new gig for that "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" star. And he's only some of the actor dabbling in television production. Ryan Reynolds also just offered his first project to Fox. Variety broke this news that Reynolds' and Allan Loeb's new TV production company DarkFire offered their single-camera comedy "Guidance" to Fox. "Rise from the Planet from the Apes'" Tyler Labine is placed to star and convey the show. Tim Dowling, Loeb's writing partner on "Go By Using It,Inch authored the script. After the Failure of 'Conan the Barbarian,' What's Next for the 'Game of Thrones' Stars
The post-'Game of Thrones' box-office sweepstakes officially kicked off this past weekend with... a resounding thud. After the success of the HBO fantasy drama based on the George R.R. Martin book series, it's not too surprising that the ensemble cast might set their sights on box-office glory. First up! Jason Momoa -- who played the ferocious Khal Drago in 'Thrones' -- attempted to reboot the long-dormant 'Conan the Barbarian' franchise. And, well, as pointed out here, 'Conan' now owns the 23rd worst opening of all time (when opening in over 3000 screens). So! What do the other residents of Westeros have planed? Sean Bean (Eddard Stark) Bean's Stark served as loyal Hand of the King and was thisclose to becoming king after Robert Baratheon's death, but, alas, that just wasn't meant to be -- to say the least. But don't feel bad for Mr. Bean (you can still feel really, really bad for Mr. Stark), he will indeed get his chance to play the king in one of the 14 3 adaptations of Snow White currently in production. For those keeping track at home, Bean will star in the version being directed by Tarsem Singh. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) It's not like Dinklage has been suffering for roles over the last few year, but 'Thrones' certainly elevates the actor to another level -- certainly no one was thinking of the guy as an action star a year ago. Next for Dinklage: Watch him play a medieval knight alongside Steve Zahn and Ryan Kwanten in the live-action-role-playing comedy, 'Knights of Badassdom.' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) If I'm Coster-Waldau's agent, I'm avoiding any and all scripts that would even suggest of an incestual brother/sister relationship or the attempted murder of children. Coster-Waldau will be a presence at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, co-starring in 'Headhunters' -- a movie about headhunters and art theft. Which, in comparison, really isn't at all as dastardly as the actions of Ser Jaime. Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) The actress who plays the love of Jaime Lannister's life (and sister) will co-star alongside Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby in 2012's we-promise-it-doesn't-star-Rob-Schneider Judge Dredd film, 'Dredd.' Though, with its September release date, you'll see another full season of 'Thrones' before we find out if this version of Judge Dredd can subdue the 16-year-old stench that we can still smell from Sylvester Stallone's version. Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo) Ugh. Kit Harington (Jon Snow) Harington is now best known for being a bastard. And not in the "you took the last parking spot, you bastard,' sort of way. Harington, as the bastard son of Ned Stark, did a fairly great job of separating himself from his almost lookalike half brothers during 'Thrones' first season. Harington will make his big-screen debut in 'Silent Hill: Revelation 3D' -- next year's sequel to 2006's horror hit, 'Silent Hill.' Richard Madden (Robb Stark) The new Lord of Winterfell can next be seen the adaptation of Sebastian Faulk's (mostly) World War I era 'Birdsong.' Madden plays Captain Weir, a good friend of the main protagonist, Stephen (Eddie Redmayne). Long in the works as a feature film that had Daniel Radcliffe attached to star, Faulk's 1993 novel is being filmed as a BBC series. Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark) Speaking of World War I: Hempstead-Wright co-stars later this year alongside breakout star from 'The Town,' Rebecca Hall, in the post-WWI period piece about children ghosts, 'The Awakening.' Brian Kirk (Director) It's not just the actors who are getting in on the big-screen fun. Kirk -- who directed three episodes of 'Thrones' -- is not only currently in talks to take over directing duties from Kenneth Branagh in 2013's 'Thor 2,' Variety is also reporting that he might be also helming Tom Cruise in 'Paper Wings.' Tom Six Talks A Persons Centipede 3
'It'll make 2 seem like a Disney film'With the banning from the Human Centipede 2, Dutchman Tom Six has created a gory niche for themself as cinema's provocateur from the moment. Personally, though, he's a disarmingly gentle soul and far in the extreme horrorhead of repute, the guy on whom the BBFC lately introduced its censorship forces to deal with. Speaking at Empire Presents... Giant Screen, Six had more not so good news for that British Board of Film Classification: Human Centipede 3 will "result in the 4g iphone seem like a Disney film". Before you decide to scour the Disney back catalogue for that one where Wacky and Pluto form a adorable doggy-pede, there really is not one. Essentially, expect much more shocks and much more boundary-pushing from an unchastened Six. "We are likely to shoot the 3rd film entirely in the usa and it will likely be the best,Inch he excited to some Giant Screen crowd. "It is going to upset many people. "The director also confirmed that part three will be the last of his Centi-series, inside a stitch ensuring cinema its most extreme trilogy (sorry Edge). Not sure on whether or not this would finish with one finish from the centipede finding the other finish is his father, but we only hope not. Despite his protestations, Six was requested if he may feel a temptation to pull out the sandpaper for any 4th instalment. "No. Never, ever. "Six criticised the BBFC's decision to prohibit A Persons Centipede 2 ("the incorrect decision") and recommended that his utilization of British stars might have been an issue within the decision. But he's staunchly declining to accept snippers to questionable moments. "I dispise cutting but I am jealous available A Serbian Film here, however, you can't see mine. Whether it's made here you have to have the ability to view it. "One audience member requested Six if he expected Hollywood to include Human Centipede to its roster of horror remakes. "With Tom Cruise on his hands and knees?" joked the Dutchman. "No, I am unsure but I'd like to direct it. "A Persons Centipede 2 has gone out now. A Persons Centipede 2 can also be not out now. It is a little confusing.

Kenny Ortega Kicks Up Heels for 'Dirty Dancing' Remake
Hollywood always has nice consolation prizes for its talent. Kenny Ortega, the innovative choreographer who helped put Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey on the map by choreographing the grinding dance action that made the 1987 Emile Ardolino-helmed 'Dirty Dancing' a major hit, has been tapped by Lionsgate to direct the remake. A consolation prize? Well, a couple of years ago he had been promised the helm of the remake of 'Footloose,' which was to star Zac Efron in the lead, but that deal fell though (the film will be released Oct. 14 with Kenny Wormald taking on the famous Kevin Bacon role). Vestron Pictures, which began as a home video outfit in the early 1980s, made 'Dirty Dancing' but folded before it could make a sequel -- it was almost 17 years before 'Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights,' was made by Veston's successor, Artisan, which also folded; the film was distributed by Lionsgate and bombed. But Lionsgate kept the rights, and is now moving forward with the remake. Ortega, of course, went on to direct a couple episodes of the 'Dirty Dancing' TV series, all three 'High School Musical' productions (two TV features and a movie), the 'XIX Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony' and, of course, the Michael Jackson documentary 'This Is It.' No cast or screenwriter has been announced. It will be interesting to see how a 21st century 'Dirty Dancing' will play out -- will electo-trance-hip-hop be the music/dance of choice? If you remember, the original was about a naive young girl on vacation with her parents in the Catskills who gets initiated into the world of suggestive dancing (and sex) by a very hot dance instructor. Where will the film take place? Are there still naive young girls vacationing in the Catskills? What do you think?
